At a time when social feeds flatten nuance and dance music culture can be reduced to quick-hit spectacle, Dreamland Issue 01 pulls the lens back to basics: on intimacy, connection, belonging in the club space. Dreamland believes the intimate club setting is irreplaceable and the zine sets out to highlight, celebrate and preserve that space.
Issue 01 is the first physical iteration of Dreamland, the global community founded by DJ and artist Peach (@itspeach_) with a shared purpose to preserve intimacy in club culture - online + irl - https://www.dreamland666.club/
The 72-page zine is made up of three parts - Part One collects reflections from the Dreamland community with poems and essays from London to Bogotá. Part Two is a series of interviews with some of the best intimate clubs in the UK + Europe. Part Three compiles contributions from friends of Peach - DJs, artists, promoters and writers - such as Call Super (Joseph Richmond Seaton), Parris (Dwayne Parris Robinson), Jay Duncan, Johanna Schneider, Ilyas Nofi, Joe Delon, Rebecca, Josh Byat, Gray Rimmer and Kyle.
The aim is to inspire a wider dialogue around the importance of small club spaces and highlight the intimate connection of clubbing as a human experience. It's an honest snapshot of some of the dancefloors that are foundations to the scene, from the voices of the people behind it.
Issue 01 will manifest IRL with a Dreamland club tour throughout 2026 in some of our favourite small clubs/spaces in the UK + Europe, including all of those featured in the zine. Dreamland will come to:
Vittoria Wharf, London UK The White Hotel & Derby Brewery Arms, Manchester UK Tengu, Dublin IE Gut Level, Sheffield UK Post Bar, Helsinki FI The Berkeley Suite, Glasgow UK Sundaze, Brussels BE Strange Brew, Bristol UK Macadam, Nantes FR Cobalt Studios, Newcastle UK
This is a zine that celebrates the scene that we share with so many. It's designed to capture, document and archive memories worldwide in a physical medium to cultivate closeness within our extended community. At a time when DJs and dancers alike can feel jaded with the constant challenge of the mainstream homogenisation of our scene, Dreamland strives to actively participate in the discourse. Issue 01 is our antidote to these feelings, 'the making and sharing of this zine has provided me with a huge amount of solace at a time when I've often felt critical of the world that exists around me. I hope reading it can give you a bit of that too' - Peach.
